After enjoying a fresh cup of African tea or coffee, you’ll set out on a two-hour Kigali city tour that includes stops at local craft markets and the Kigali Genocide Memorial. From there, Wildhorn Africa will drive you on a scenic six-hour journey to Nyungwe National Park, with an en-route visit to the King’s Palace and a lunch stop in Butare.

With Wildhorn Africa, you’ll transfer to Volcanoes National Park, enjoying a refreshing cup of African tea or coffee along the way. The journey treats you to breathtaking views of Lake Kivu, verdant plantations, and Rwanda’s famous rolling hills. Upon arrival, you’ll settle in for lunch before visiting the beautiful Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo.

Start the day with a refreshing cup of Rwanda’s finest tea or coffee before leaving your lodge for a briefing on gorilla trekking guidelines. With a packed lunch and water in hand, you’ll be assigned to a gorilla family and set off from Kinigi for the trek, which can last anywhere from 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ movements. Once you locate them, you’ll spend a remarkable hour observing their behaviors, taking photos, and soaking in the experience before returning to your lodge to relax. Later in the afternoon or evening, Wildhorn Africa will take you to the Gorilla Guardians Village for an immersive cultural visit.

After breakfast, you’ll head to Kinigi for a briefing on golden monkey tracking guidelines. At 8:00 am, the trek begins, lasting 2 to 4 hours and allowing for a memorable one-hour encounter with these playful primates. Once the experience is complete, you’ll return to the lodge to check out before driving back to Kigali with Wildhorn Africa, marking the end of your safari.
