Your driver-guide from Wildhorn Africa will meet you at either your Kigali hotel or the airport. After a warm welcome, you will set off for Volcanoes National Park. Along the way, there is an option to stop at the Kigali Genocide Memorial to gain insight into Rwanda’s history. Upon arrival at the park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and spend the night there.

On this day, you will rise early for breakfast before driving to the park headquarters with a packed lunch for a briefing on the rules and guidelines of gorilla trekking. Visitors are then grouped into teams of eight, each assigned to track a gorilla family. Guided into the forest, you will search for these gentle giants and, once found, spend a magical hour in their company. After the trek, you will return to the starting point, board your vehicle, and continue to Lake Bunyonyi—celebrated as one of Uganda’s most breathtaking destinations. This lava-dammed lake, adorned with 29 islands, offers stunning panoramic views. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

You will set out early in the morning for a scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, home to the world’s largest concentration of hippos. The waters and riverbanks also attract crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, warthogs, and numerous other wildlife species coming to drink. After a brief rest and lunch, you’ll head out onto the savannah plains for an evening game drive. Here, you may encounter elephants, buffalo, waterbucks, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, antelopes, lions, leopards, hyenas, and a variety of birdlife. The day will end with dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.

After breakfast, you will set out across the savannah plains to spot more wildlife, including species you may have missed the previous day. From there, the journey continues to Kibale National Park, famously known as the chimpanzee capital. Upon arrival, you’ll have lunch before proceeding to the park headquarters for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking. Visitors are then grouped and guided into the forest in search of these fascinating primates. Once located, you will spend an unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat before returning to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and begin your return journey, either to Entebbe or back to Kigali, with a stop for lunch along the way.
