7-Day Bwindi, Kibale & Queen Elizabeth NP Mid-Range Tour

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, a Wildhorn Africa driver-guide will warmly welcome you and provide a briefing about your upcoming safari. You’ll then be transferred to your pre-booked hotel. If time permits, you may enjoy a short city tour of Kampala or Entebbe, exploring some of the area’s fascinating historical and cultural landmarks. Dinner and an overnight stay will follow at your hotel in Kampala.

After an early breakfast, Wildhorn Africa will transfer you to the Kanyanchu Park Headquarters with enough bottled water for the trek. Here, you’ll receive a detailed briefing before setting out at around 8:00 am for your chimpanzee tracking adventure in the lush Kibale Forest, accompanied by an armed ranger-guide.

The trek offers an incredible opportunity to watch chimpanzees in their natural environment, while also spotting other fascinating forest residents such as grey-cheeked mangabeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, vibrant butterflies, and a variety of unique bird species.

After this unforgettable experience, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch, then continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On arrival, you’ll check in at your lodge, enjoy dinner, and settle in for an overnight stay.

Wake up to the melodies of birds and enjoy an early breakfast at 6:00 am before heading out with Wildhorn Africa for a thrilling morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. This is the best time to encounter early risers such as lions, solitary buffaloes, Uganda kobs, elephants, and even the elusive leopard.

Afterward, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation before setting off in the afternoon for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This wildlife-rich waterway is home to an impressive variety of species—expect to see crocodiles basking on the banks, pods of hippos cooling off in the water, elephants grazing nearby, and an abundance of birdlife including pink-backed pelicans and kingfishers. Cruising on the Kazinga is one of the park’s most scenic and rewarding experiences. You’ll then head back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, Wildhorn Africa will transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, traveling through the famous Ishasha sector, renowned for its rare tree-climbing lions. Along the way, you’ll enjoy a short game drive in Ishasha, where you may spot these unique lions lounging in the fig trees, as well as other wildlife such as topis, elephants, and a variety of bird species.

Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bwindi is home to the world’s largest population of mountain gorillas, along with a remarkable diversity of flora and fauna. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at your lodge, enjoy dinner, and settle in for an overnight stay.

With Wildhorn Africa, your day begins with an early breakfast around 6:30 am before heading to the park headquarters with a packed lunch. Here, you’ll receive a detailed briefing from park rangers and enjoy a lively performance by a local community group. By 8:00 am, you’ll set off into the misty forest with rangers to begin your mountain gorilla trekking adventure.

The trek can last anywhere from 2 to 7 hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. Once you encounter a gorilla family, you’ll be allowed a magical one-hour experience observing them in their natural habitat. To make the journey easier, porters are available to carry your backpack or assist along the way for a small fee.

After this unforgettable encounter, you’ll return to your lodge to relax. Later in the evening, you’ll take a guided walk to nearby communities such as the Batwa and Bakiga, where you’ll engage with locals, learn about their traditions, and immerse yourself in their cultural heritage. Dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge complete the day.

After breakfast, Wildhorn Africa will drive you out of the park toward Kampala, passing through vast highlands that offer stunning scenic views along the way. You’ll pause for lunch at the Igongo Cultural Centre, a perfect stop to enjoy local cuisine and learn more about Uganda’s rich heritage.

The journey continues with a stop at the Equator, where you’ll take part in the famous equator experiment and capture memorable photos. From there, your driver-guide will either drop you off at your hotel in Kampala or transfer you to Entebbe International Airport should you be flying home the same day.
