11-Day Tanzania Safari with Zanzibar Beach Break

A Wildhorn Africa representative will be waiting to welcome you at Kilimanjaro Airport before transferring you to your lodge in Arusha for an overnight stay. In the afternoon, you’ll have the chance to explore the vibrant city center. Arusha is a captivating mix of modern life and traditional culture, where sleek office buildings, luxury hotels, and stylish coffee shops stand alongside bustling markets filled with fresh produce, fish, and meat.

As you wander through the city, you’ll encounter women dressed in bright, colorful fabrics, balancing large baskets on their heads or selling enormous avocados and roasting corn by the roadside. You may also spot Maasai men proudly wearing their distinctive shukas as they move through the streets, adding to the city’s rich cultural charm.

After breakfast, your Wildhorn Africa guide will transfer you to Lake Manyara National Park, set at the base of the dramatic Manyara Escarpment along the Great Rift Valley.

The park’s alkaline lake, spanning about 230 square kilometers, is a haven for birdlife, drawing flocks of pink flamingos and countless other species. At the lake’s edge, pods of hippos can often be seen resting in the waters.

Lake Manyara is also famous for its unique tree-climbing lions, while leopards and hyenas may also make an appearance. The park teems with wildlife, from elephant herds and wildebeest to buffalo, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, and impalas. Its dense forests and open plains are also home to a thriving primate population, including vervet monkeys, baboons, and other species.

As the day draws to a close, you’ll leave Lake Manyara just before sunset and continue on to Karatu, where dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge await.

One of the highlights is the chance to see the rare black rhino, a species that is seldom spotted in other regions of Tanzania.

As evening approaches, you’ll check in to a scenic camp perched on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, where breathtaking views make for a perfect end to the day with Wildhorn Africa.

After breakfast, you’ll depart from Ngorongoro and journey to the legendary Serengeti, Tanzania’s most celebrated national park, where you will spend the next two nights with Wildhorn Africa.

The Serengeti is renowned for its exceptional wildlife viewing and is home to one of nature’s greatest spectacles – the Great Migration. Each year, more than 2.5 million wildebeest, accompanied by vast numbers of zebras, move from the Serengeti into Kenya’s Masai Mara in search of greener pastures.

If you visit during this incredible migration, you’ll witness endless herds of wildebeest and zebra carpeting the plains as far as the eye can see.

On your second day in the Serengeti, you’ll set out on both morning and afternoon game drives across its sweeping savannahs. The park is teeming with wildlife, giving you the chance to spot zebras, impalas, Grant’s gazelles, wildebeest, buffalo, rhinos, and elephants. Predator sightings are equally thrilling, with lions, cheetahs, and leopards roaming the plains, making every drive an unforgettable adventure.

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the nearby airstrip, where you bid farewell to your Wildhorn Africa guide before boarding a light aircraft flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival on the island, you’ll be welcomed and driven to your accommodation, where you will spend the next four nights.
