This morning, you’ll set off early on a game drive to witness the magic of an African sunrise over the wilderness. With a cup of coffee to start your day, you’ll venture into the bush as the landscape awakens, watching wildlife emerge from the mist and dew-covered grasses.

Afterward, enjoy a hearty breakfast within the park, followed later by a picnic lunch surrounded by the beauty of the Serengeti. In the afternoon, you’ll embark on another game drive, offering one last opportunity to explore the sweeping plains and encounter more of Africa’s remarkable wildlife as you make your way toward the park’s exit. Rise and shine! Today begins with an early departure to the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Your morning destination is the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater—one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Upon reaching the crater rim, you’ll descend the steep track into the vast 600-meter-deep caldera, where sweeping grasslands, shimmering lakes, and abundant wildlife await. This extraordinary ecosystem is home to more than 25,000 animals, including the Big Five, spotted hyenas, and an impressive variety of over 500 bird species.

After an enriching game drive and a picnic lunch inside the crater, you’ll continue to Mto Wa Mbu for dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel, with all arrangements thoughtfully managed by Wildhorn Africa.

After breakfast, you’ll set off for the final highlight of your safari—Lake Manyara National Park, a compact yet remarkably diverse reserve located about 120 km west of Arusha. The park is named after its shallow soda lake, which expands and recedes with the seasons and provides a haven for thousands of flamingos along with more than 500 other bird species.

As you explore, you’ll encounter an array of wildlife including monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, and, with some luck, the famous tree-climbing lions. Lake Manyara is celebrated for its variety of landscapes, ranging from open plains to woodlands teeming with primates and dramatic cliffs dotted with baobab trees.

Following lunch, you’ll begin your return journey to Arusha, arriving by late afternoon, before continuing on to your flight bound for Zanzibar. All of this will be seamlessly arranged by Wildhorn Africa.

After breakfast around 7:30 am, your guide from Wildhorn Africa will collect you for a traditional dhow ride to a nearby island. Here you’ll discover how the island got its name and explore its fascinating sanctuary, home to more than 50 giant tortoises, some over a century old. After learning about the island’s history, you’ll have the chance to swim in the crystal-clear waters, surrounded by colorful tropical fish.

Later, you’ll continue with the famous Spice Tour, which lasts about three hours. This immersive experience introduces you to a variety of tropical fruits, spices, and herbs, along with some unique plants rarely seen elsewhere. Along the way, you may encounter spices such as curry, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, pepper, tamarind, ginger, menthol, and Zanzibar cloves—treasures once traded across the Indian Ocean by the Sultan of Oman.
