Pick up and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, a guide from Wildhorn Africa will pick you up to begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Kisoro, located in southwestern Uganda. Your first stop will be at the Equator in Kayabwe, where you can take memorable photos and witness the famous water experiment that demonstrates the division between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres—offering you the chance to stand in both at once.

You’ll then continue to Mbarara for a lunch break at the Igongo Cultural Center before resuming the drive toward Bwindi. Though the journey may take up to nine hours, it is filled with ever-changing scenery, from bustling Kampala to the lush landscapes of Kisoro, making it a truly rewarding experience.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You’ll begin the day with an early breakfast before heading to the park headquarters at 7:30 am for a briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. Be sure to carry a packed lunch and plenty of drinking water, as the trek can extend into the afternoon while searching for these gentle giants in their natural forest habitat. The hike is physically challenging yet incredibly rewarding, and porters are available at the headquarters should you need assistance. Once you encounter the gorillas, you’ll have a full hour to observe their behavior, capture photographs, and ask your guide questions about their fascinating way of life.

After completing the trek, you’ll receive a Gorilla Trekking Certificate to commemorate your successful adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You’ll then return to the lodge to freshen up, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

Exit Bwindi and Transfer back to Entebbe International Airport

After breakfast, you’ll depart from your lodge at Lake Bunyonyi and begin the journey back to Kampala or directly to Entebbe International Airport for your flight home. Along the way, you’ll stop for lunch before continuing onward. Be sure to pick up a souvenir as a lasting reminder of this unforgettable adventure with Wildhorn Africa.
