Pick up and Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

As scheduled, an experienced driver-guide from WildHorn Africa will meet you at the designated location and time, providing a warm welcome and briefing. Following this, a scenic 5 to 6-hour drive to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s oldest and largest conservation area, will be undertaken.

Along the journey, stunning landscapes, lush greenery, and bustling town scenes will be observed. Arrival at the lodge is expected late in the evening, where dinner and an overnight stay will be enjoyed.

Morning Birding and Afternoon Boat Cruise

The second day promises memorable experiences, beginning soon after an early breakfast. A guide from WildHorn Africa will provide a briefing, offering essential information about the birdlife to be encountered. Following this, a 3 to 4-hour excursion into the wilderness will take place, during which the sights and sounds of numerous bird species—including crested cranes, Egyptian geese, and the highly sought-after stork—will be observed and identified.

After several hours of birdwatching, a lunch break is enjoyed before embarking on an afternoon boat cruise. This journey offers stunning views of the waterfalls and opportunities to spot various aquatic birds, such as the kingfisher. The day concludes with dinner and rest at the lodge.

Full-day Birding at Budongo Forest

After a hearty breakfast in the early morning, a packed lunch will be prepared before setting out on a rewarding full-day game drive along the edge of Budongo Forest National Park. The journey will pass through the vast mahogany forest, where various bird species can be identified, including the chocolate-backed kingfisher, Hugli’s Francolin, white-thighed hornbill, blue-breasted kingfisher, and dwarf kingfisher, among others.

Following approximately five hours of birdwatching, a lunch break will be taken, with birding activities continuing until sunset. The day will conclude with a return to the lodge for dinner and rest, all organized by WildHorn Africa.

Departure

Following breakfast, a hike to the top of the falls can be undertaken prior to checking out of the lodge. This is followed by a scenic 5 to 6-hour drive, during which stunning landscapes and fresh air will be enjoyed. The day concludes with dinner and a restful overnight stay, arranged by WildHorn Africa.
