Nyakalengija (1,615m) – Trek to Nyabitaba Hut (2,651m)
Registration is completed at park headquarters before entering dense montane forest. A steady ascent is maintained toward Nyabitaba Hut, where early altitude adaptation begins. Wildlife sightings, including colobus monkeys, are frequently observed.

Nyabitaba Hut to John Matte Hut (3,414m)
The route descends to Kurt Shafer Bridge before ascending into bamboo and heather zones. Boggy sections are crossed with guide assistance. The Bujuku Valley begins to open dramatically as altitude increases.

Acclimatization Hike toward Bujuku Lake – Return to John Matte Hut

Summit Attempt – Margherita Peak (5,109m) – Descend to Kitandara Hut

Margherita Peak is reached at sunrise, offering expansive views across the Congo Basin and East African highlands. After summit time, descent is made to Elena Hut and continued to Kitandara Hut.

Kitandara Hut to Guy Yeoman Hut (3,261m)

The descent is completed through forested terrain. Certificates are issued at park headquarters. Transfer back to Kasese is arranged for overnight rest
