Rise and shine! Today begins with an early departure to the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Your morning destination is the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater—one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Upon reaching the crater rim, you’ll descend the steep track into the vast 600-meter-deep caldera, where sweeping grasslands, shimmering lakes, and abundant wildlife await. This extraordinary ecosystem is home to more than 25,000 animals, including the Big Five, spotted hyenas, and an impressive variety of over 500 bird species.

After an enriching game drive and a picnic lunch inside the crater, you’ll continue to Mto Wa Mbu for dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel, with all arrangements thoughtfully managed by Wildhorn Africa.

After breakfast, you’ll set off for the final highlight of your safari—Lake Manyara National Park, a compact yet remarkably diverse reserve located about 120 km west of Arusha. The park is named after its shallow soda lake, which expands and recedes with the seasons and provides a haven for thousands of flamingos along with more than 500 other bird species.

As you explore, you’ll encounter an array of wildlife including monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, and, with some luck, the famous tree-climbing lions. After breakfast around 7:30 am, your guide from Wildhorn Africa will collect you for a traditional dhow ride to a nearby island. Here you’ll discover how the island got its name and explore its fascinating sanctuary, home to more than 50 giant tortoises, some over a century old. Later, you’ll continue with the famous Spice Tour, which lasts about three hours.
